Hello, ladies and gentleman, and welcome to another episode of RealLife TV.

Today I’m going to teach you all how to use the expressions just saying and it’s all good.

Is this RealLife?

Just Saying

The phrase “just saying” is often used when we want to give someone some feedback, maybe some constructive criticism, and also maybe when we say something without thinking too much, and it could come across as offensive.

So, when I finish my phrase, I would often add “just saying” to the end, so that person doesn’t take it too seriously, or doesn’t get offended by what you’ve just said.

For example, if I was to say “mhmm… looks like you’ve put on a little bit of weight, just saying.”

So, when I say “just saying” at the end, it means that I’m not trying to criticize the person, they should not be offended, I’m just telling them the truth from my perspective. Just saying.

Another example: If a colleague of yours at work happens to arrive late consecutively, you might want to give them some advice, by saying “Hey, buddy, you might want to try to get to work on time, or the boss could fire you. Just saying…”

So, in that case, you don’t want your friend to think that you’re being bossy, or telling him what to do, you’re just giving him some friendly advice.

So, that’s how we use just saying.

Just so you guys know, some people often use this in a sarcastic way, or sometimes they are being offensive intentionally, and then using this phrase “just saying” just so the person thinks they’re joking around.

It’s All Good

And the next expression: it’s all good.

The expression all good is used often to say no problems, no worries. If someone apologizes to you, you might say “oh, it’s all good,” just to show that person that you are not offended by what he or she did to you, and that everything is ok.

That’s It!

  • SpireaX says:

The first example used for “just saying” proves it’s just a way to deliver rude or judgmental comments while avoiding the responsibility for the words used that might hurt someone’s feelings.

    • Hey there Spireax, I think that was just the example. It doesn’t need to be rude. It’s more like “take it or leave it- that’s my perspective,” but you’re right, sometimes people do abuse it. Thanks for watching and commenting :0 )
