Facebook Weekly Review 5/8/13 (Special Edition)

5/8/13

Welcome to the sixth RLE Weekly Review, a special edition about a social movement that has been revolutionizing and taking the aims of our community to a new level: the RLE movie marathon. We’ve been witnessing some awesome presentations from all over the world. Many Real Lifers have conquered their fear of speaking English. If you haven’t made a video yet, be sure you do so, because you CAN inspire other members by showing them that you can communicate with courage.

So, why should everybody take part in the RLE movie marathon? Being able to make and upload a video is dope, but what can be considered the icing on the cake?

  • The World Is Eager to Meet You

The RLE community is the perfect place to practice your English. Furthermore, you can make some good friends and have a whale of a time with them. So, what better way of becoming famous among the community than by making your very own video? You can introduce yourself and talk about your hobbies. I assure you that it doesn’t take too much time.

  • Spread Your Ideas Through Body Language

What if you could support your ideas concerning the RLE community by letting your body speak with your mouth? Great leaders generally takes advantage of body language to persuade [to convince] their interlocutors to do something. Want to know more about body language? If so, I recommend that you take a look at the following video and think over this such powerful communicative tool.

  • Speaking Is The Best Way of Getting Fluent

It goes without saying that we need to speak in order to improve our fluency. You can talk to yourself, with a friend,  or even with your dog. It’s up to you to decide which of these options fits you best, but you gotta choose one way of speaking. Whether you are a great singer or not, challenge yourself to come up with a great song and share it with the RLE community members. However, if you can’t cut the mustard when singing, don’t worry. All you need is make an effort to speak, speak and speak. But if you have a knack for [a natural skill, ability] singing, you could be invited to take part in a famous TV show…

What Are You Waiting For?

The RLE community intends to get as many people as possible to participate in the video marathon. Besides being a community building activity, taking part in such a remarkable event illustrates the overall vision of Real Life English. Learning English stands for searching for a way of connecting to the world. Each country has its own culture, accent, language and point of view regard to the world. On the other hand, there’s a powerful tool that makes long distances (cultural and geographic) become shorter: learning English. And the only way of doing so is practicing it; practice your English by taking risks; by conquering your fear of communicating; by facing new challenges; by speaking to the world! Here’s an inspiring video made by Cecilia, one of our RLE Core Members. I strongly recommend paying attention to her message. Listen to it. Think about it. Make it yours.
