Beyond Borders #11: 4 Habits That Will Transform Your English (And Your Life), and more! | Justin Murray, RealLife English CEO

Justin Murray is the Co-founder and CEO of RealLife English. He’s originally from the Seattle area in Washington State in the US but has been living in Brazil for more than 10 years. Justin and his business partners (including yours truly) started RealLife English as a series of face-to-face events to give their students the opportunity to practice speaking English through real-life conversations. The business grew into a global community with two very successful Youtube channels, a podcast, and a recently launched app designed to help learners like you to live your English. Justin believes that every learner is on a journey to become the best version of themselves and English is a powerful tool to achieve that. He dreams and works hard towards creating a world beyond borders in which global citizens connect through a common language.

Justin is my co-founder and a friend of mine, so we had a pretty fascinating conversation if I do say so myself! He recommends a couple of mind-blowing books that can change your life. Meditation and journaling are two crucial and fundamental daily habits of his, so we talked about why they are powerful and how you can get started if you’re curious. Justin shared what running competitively in high school and college taught him about life and leadership, and how his parents taught him the value of short term pain for long term gain. We discussed how RealLife English got started with events. If you are a teacher or a learner that might like to start an English-speaking group in your city, you can get some helpful advice here. Justin also shared some tips and resources that can help you if you have ever wanted to give up, be it on learning English or any project or endeavor. And we played a fun new game that will get you laughing. That and so much more coming up on episode 10 of Beyond Borders!
