RealLife English: Empowering Global Citizens with Human Connection and AI
At RealLife English, our mission is to Spark Global Consciousness by guiding and connecting intermediate English learners to confidently use real-life English as the doorway to their greatest lives. Through our innovative RealLife Way methodology, we aim to bridge cultural gaps and empower English learners to not only speak confident, natural English, but to discover their greatest potential as globally conscious human beings. We see AI as a powerful ally in our cause.
Our Platform: The RealLife English App
Our flagship product, the RealLife English App, serves over 100,000 monthly active users from the 4 corners of earth. The current app offers AI in a few ways:
- Global Speak: A Web-RTC-powered speaking tool that connects learners across cultures, facilitating real-time English practice and fostering a vibrant, global community. Although this feature is powered by our vibrant global community of English learners, we’ve recruited AI to help us curate a reputation system that ensures safety and Global Citizen values.
- To help our learners reach confident, natural English fluency, we offer a rich variety of video English Coaching Lessons, with Interactive transcripts that provide instant definitions, all the while helping them understand fast-speaking, native-level English, with flashcards tailored to individual learning progress, aiding in vocabulary retention and mastery. All of this is greatly facilitated by AI.

Although RealLife is all about real-life human connection and using English to spark global consciousness (and we as a team are a microcosm of that), we view AI not just as an integral tool for the success of our learners, and the success of our business– we are fully convinced that learning English this way has great potential to transform human consciousness.
With this as our goal, here are just a few of our current and forward-looking AI priorities:
- Community Curation: Utilizing AI to scale and spark and support cross-cultural communication, offer personalized feedback to our learners (both technical and interpersonal), all the while helping them develop their global consciousness.
- Personalized Learning Paths: Developing adaptive learning experiences that evolve with each learner’s needs and progress. We are currently prototyping personalized flashcards and generating real-life examples of the vocabulary our learners are learning.
- Operational Innovation: Our development and design teams are currently experimenting with agentic AI and AI prototyping to streamline processes and foster innovation across all facets of our organization. We are also using it to centralize, curate, act more quickly upon customer feedback, and in countless other ways across the organization.
