At RealLife English, our mission is to Spark Global Consciousness by guiding and connecting intermediate English learners to confidently use real-life English as the doorway to their greatest lives. Through our innovative RealLife Way methodology, we aim to bridge cultural gaps and empower English learners to not only speak confident, natural English, but to discover their greatest potential as globally conscious human beings. We see AI as a powerful ally to this cause.

Our flagship product, the RealLife English App, serves over 105,000 monthly active users from the 4 corners of earth. The current app offers AI in growing array of ways, but the 2 main uses cases live in production are the following:

• Global Speak: A Web-RTC-powered speaking tool that connects learners across cultures, facilitating real-time English practice within a vibrant, global community of RealLife English learners. Although this feature is powered by our learners, we’ve recruited AI to help us curate a reputation system that ensures safety and Global Citizen values. After every one of the several thousand calls per day, learners can share their experience about their partner. From there we have an AI that reads this feedback, classifying it according to the user, and depending on the severity of the feedback, blocking bad actors. 
• Furthermore, help our learners reach confident, natural English fluency, we offer a rich variety of video English Coaching Lessons. Here we leverage AI to layer on interactive transcripts that provide instant clickable definitions, in addition to helping them understand fast-speaking, native-level English, with AI-generated (but human-curated) flashcards tailored. We are currently planning to contextualize these flashcards to individual learning progress, goals, and their unique purpose, all of which are validated to dramatically increase vocabulary retention and mastery. 

Although RealLife is all about real-life human connection and using English to spark global consciousness (and we as a team see ourselves as a microcosm of that), we view AI not just as an integral tool for the success of our learners, and the success of our business– we believe that learning English this way has great potential to transform human consciousness, both individually and collectively.

With this as our goal, here are just a few of our current and forward-looking AI priorities:

• Community Curation: Utilizing AI to spark and support cross-cultural communication in our Global Speak community, offering personalized feedback to our learners (both technical and interpersonal), all the while helping them develop their global consciousness.
• Personalized Learning Paths: Developing adaptive learning experiences that evolve with each learner’s needs and progress. As we alluded to above, we are currently prototyping a new vocabulary flashcard solution that offers our learners personalized flashcards with real-life examples. These flashcards, and eventually full lessons, will be contextualized to each learner, including why they're learning, and what their goals are, both of which are key inputs into our methodology. 
• Operational Innovation: Our development and design teams are currently experimenting with agentic AI, AI coding and prototyping to streamline processes and foster innovation across all facets of our organization.
• We are also using it to level up several other product and organizational work flows, from curating and acting more quickly upon customer feedback, to video production, meeting management, and a general "AI-ifying" of our general company knowledge base.

What sets RealLife English apart isn’t just our technology—it’s our purpose. We believe that globally-minded English speakers become bridges between cultures, fostering understanding and cross-cultural empathy in an increasingly divided world.
